Parkinsonia texana
Found exclusively in the Tamaulipan Mesquital, this medium-sized tree is a beatiful reminder of the resilience of our South Texas landscapes. Like other paloverde trees, the Texas Paloverde prolifically blooms in the spring, sometimes turning its canopy almost completely yellow with flowers. Very drought-tolerant and provides dappled shade for plants growing underneath it.
